Cystoviridae are bacteriophage viruses, distinguishable by their triple stranded, double sided RNA structure. This particular virus is the only bacteriophage in existence with an outer lipid layer protecting it.

Typically, this particular virus infects a Gram negative Bacteria commonly known as Pseudomonas.
