What do Viruses Do?
Viruses are generally deemed to be virulent, i.e. that which causes infectious diseases in a biological entity or organism. They are known to infect many different forms of life, most often causing painfully difficult to deal with diseases that can range from anywhere close to insignificant, right up to being causes of chronic pain, illness and even death.
On a viral, biological level, viruses generally try to survive, They are basically consumed with the process of self continuation through replication and evolution. Viruses, to date, have done an amazing job of maintaining their own self existence despite their rather predominant tendency to destroy their host organisms. On a host level, viruses are generally responsible for causing all sorts of biological problems generally thought to be incurable through traditional medical means.
Viruses, by means of infectious transmission, com into contact with a fresh, living and unaffected cellular host. Once in control of the cellular hosts DNA processes, the virus will tend to manipulate the host cell into providing the virus with 'provisions' required to satisfy the continuation of the viral species itself, in place of providing the host's biological functions with the provisions they normally require in order to maintain a healthy and functional existence. Viruses, in short, can make us sick, act as carriers of disease making others sick around us and even bring about death to those entities less capable of dealing with viral infections to such a degree.
